Manningham Gallery's latest exhibition, Profile, features two and three dimensional work of artists from Arts Project Australia.

Autistic Artist Julian Martin, Pride of Art AchievementFor 25 years Arts Project Australia has highlighted the artistic achievements of people with intellectual disbilities. Doncaster artist Julian Martin, who has painted with Arts Project Australia for nine years, will exhibit two works, on show at the gallery until September 9.

Julians mother, Pat, said art had given him self confidence and a sense of achievement.

"It (art) has given him a lot of pride - he is so proud of his work," she said.

"Julian works alone and unaided and he chooses what techniques he wants to use."

He has displayed his work in about 20 exhibitions outside Arts Project Australia and has exhibited solo in Melbourne. A floor talk will be held at the Manningham Gallery, behind the council offices, on September 15 at 1pm. Gallery hours are Tuesdays-Fridays 10am-5pm and weekends 2-5pm. Phone 9840 9367
